About EvaluationKit
EvaluationKIT has been our course and instructor evaluation system since Fall 2016. This system replaced the paper evaluations distributed/scanned previously. Evaluations are used in many ways by academic and administrative departments. Mainly, this feedback is used to update course content and influences decisions to renew instructors for future sections. Evaluation reports from this system are also required for instructor approval packets sent to the Academic Senate.

Instructors will receive an automatic email from EvaluationKIT (with a reply address of studentrecords@unex.ucla.edu) when the evaluation period for their section has ended.
- The evaluation period for short courses starts the day after the section is completed and continues for the next 8 days.
- The evaluation period for standard courses starts 8 days before the class ends and continues for the next 16 days.
Instructors' personalized login links to EvaluationKIT are included in each results announcement email. Instructors do not have a username/password to remember for EvaluationKIT. If they keep one of their results announcement emails or bookmark their personalized link, they can access EvaluationKIT at any time and review their available results.
If instructors (or staff) believe that their personalized login link has been compromised, it can be reset by contacting the Help Desk (its@uclaextension.edu).
Instructor problems when trying to view their evaluation results
The most common issue with instructors not having access to their evaluation results is due to grades not being entered and approved via the Destiny instructor portal. The email from EvaluationKIT is sent regardless of grades being in or not, but if an instructor's section is missing grades, they will see on of the following scenarios:
No Results Found
The instructor has no results from a previous quarter and the current quarter's results are not available
because grades are not yet submitted
Only Previous Quarter(s) Results Available
The instructor can view results from a previous quarter but not current quarter.
Previous and Current Quarter Results Available but Section(s) Missing
The instructor can view results from previous quarter(s) and some results from current quarter, but is missing one section or multiple sections.
Troubleshooting Instructor Evaluation Kit Problems
To investigate why evaluation results are missing, sign in to Destiny and visit the "Grading Sheet" for the section in question. "All Instructor Approved Grades Entered?" must be answered with "Yes" for evaluation results to be released to the instructor.
If this answer in "No," then review the grade sheet for the following potential issues:
Grades are saved but not marked as "Instructor Approved"
Some grades are marked as "Instructor Approved" but others are not
Grades are missing
Grades were entered and approved on the same day the instructor attempted to review their evaluation results
There is a one-day delay between all grades being entered/instructor approved in Destiny and evaluation results being made available in EvaluationKIT. Staff can download and provide a PDF report of evaluation results once they have verified that grades are correctly entered.
Instructor cannot recall how to sign into Destiny Instructor Portal
Instructor login information for the Destiny Instructor Portal can be found in the instructor's Profile page in Destiny Staff View:
If this information is blank, then the instructor has never visited the Destiny Instructor Portal:
From this page, staff users can change instructor user names and reset instructor passwords (staff cannot view instructor passwords, they can only reset the password and send a temporary one to the primary email in the Instructor Profile
The above information should help you provide instructors with any support they may need to resolve the grading issue. If you have tried all these troubleshooting items and still have an issue, contact the ITS Helpdesk (its@uclaextension.edu)
